From her days as a chemistry major to making the life decision to focus on music, from her Iranian roots alongside her American upbringing, nilu's experience permeates her sound. Inspired by the human condition and belief that healing is possible for all individuals, nilu's music is reflective, relatable and timeless. With themes of connection and compassion coursing through her music and life, it was a natural step when nilu performed for His Holiness The Dalai Lama at his 80th birthday celebration.
TV has embraced nilu’s sultry sound. Her single "Are You With Me" was placed on an episode of Grey's Anatomy and became one of the most streamed songs to air on a tv show, as mentioned in Billboard. Her rendition of The Fray's "How To Save A Life" was used on the show's 11th season finale and has since garnered millions of streams. nilu's music has also aired on The Resident, Station 19, Pretty Little Liars, iZombie, The Brave, Doubt, MacGyver and more.
More recently, nilu has been working on a second EP while learning to play the daf (Persian frame drum) and santour (hammered dulcimer). She grew up playing piano and currently plays clarinet in a local orchestra where she continues to be inspired by the fusion of symphony and song.
